The ACVPM challenges fellow veterinarians engaged in public practice to improve the strength and breadth of their knowledge in veterinary preventive medicine by pursuing board certification. This experience will enhance personal skills, expand professional expertise, strengthen the specialty of Veterinary Preventive Medicine and ultimately favorably affect the health of mankind and the animal kingdom.

From from EVP –

Greetings,

Welcome to the ACVPM home web page.  Our mission is to offer board examinations in public health and preventive medicine to interested veterinarians working in the field.

The college remains a dynamic credentialing organization with a host of committees and executive officers that attend to a variety of details to assist interested veterinarians in our exam and support continuing education of our diplomates in the field.  Part of the immediate dynamic will be an election this spring to replace one councilor [Dr Kevin Grayson] to the Executive Board and retiring Secretary-Treasurer, Dr Candace Jacobs who has capably served two consecutive three year terms in that important office.  This election will include a referendum on the constitution and bylaws dealing with reducing emeritus age from 70 years to 65 years.  An amendment to the appeals process will also be presented that offers a time-table consonant with requirements of our oversight body, American Board of Veterinary Specialties [ABVS].

Perhaps more importantly, Dr McCall merits your continuing support that includes timely payment of dues, notification of address change/contact information, and communiqués of ideas to improve the college.  This includes job vacancies, referral of topics and articles for our newsletters, and blast emails of important messages meriting immediate notification of our membership.

The college welcomes your continuing support!!!

Candace L McCall DVM, MPH, Dipl ACVPM
Executive Vice President
